Ginny is a little girl on a mission. She wants a new mommy. When she finds out from her friend Greg about a lady that finds them she finds her way to Maizie. As a woman who has a knack for setting people up, she jumps right in. Stone has been a widower for several years. He's very cautious about getting involved with anyone because he was so devastated when his wife died. His life revolves around his daughter and his job. Danni had moved to California when she was offered a cooking show. She purchased a house that needs a lot of work and is now able to get that work done. Maizie gives her Stone's number and soon he is hired to do the job. One day he's going to have to cancel work because he has no one to watch Ginny, but Danni tells him to bring her along. This starts a great relationship between Danni and Ginny.
I loved Danni. She is such a sweet, down to earth person in spite of her celebrity status. She's a little cautious around men because of a bad relationship with one who was out to get what he could from her. She is attracted to Stone from the beginning, but cautious with him. That caution goes out the window around Ginny, who Danni adores. I loved the way that Danni knows how to talk to Ginny and doesn't ignore her. I loved the scene at the studio where it shows the way that Danni isn't one of those snotty celebrities but one who thinks about other people. I liked the way they got to know each other over the time that Stone was working on Danni's house. Danni worried a bit that it was too fast which led to some misunderstandings at the end. I did like the way she stood up for herself when she saw Stone after he was done with the house.
Stone was a terrific father. I loved the way that Ginny was the center of his life and how he wanted to do what was best for her. After his wife's death it took a long time for him to even think about dating. The woman he's seeing at the beginning of the book is a real snot. She looks down on him because of what he does, thinks she should be more important than his work or Ginny, and has no interest in being around Ginny. When Stone meets Danni he is attracted to her but intimidated a bit by her celebrity status. Some of that intimidation goes away when he sees the way she interacts with Ginny. I loved the way that he is totally knocked off balance by the immediate connection between the two. The more time they spend together the more that Danni gets under his guard. Sometimes he forgets about who she is and starts thinking about a future, but then gets reminded by something and loses hope. When he finishes with the house he figures she'll be done with him since he still doesn't believe that she'd be okay with their differences in the long term, so he ends things first. I loved the way that little Ginny and her aunt save the day.

What was "he" doing back here, disrupting Brianna McKenzie's cozy world?
Sebastian Hunter, heartbreaker extraordinaire, had actually shown up to
their high school reunion. All at once, she felt that unshakable
chemistry again, the life that might have been if he'd stayed in
Bedford. Broken promises and regret. Why would she even consider getting
involved with him again?
If it weren't for his mother's suspicious encouragement, Sebastian would
never have attended the school function. But then he saw Brianna, the
woman he'd blocked from his thoughts for years as he threw himself into
his work. The past-those feelings he never quite forgot-came rushing
back. This was his chance-to walk away again or face the person who'd
captivated him, body and soul.
Good book, all about second chances. I liked both Brianna and Sebastian. Brianna had been heartbroken when Sebastian left her behind when he went to college. They had been planning to go together, but she stayed to take care of her father after he was in a bad car accident. They drifted apart and she hadn't seen him since then. Now she is a nurse and the adoptive mother of a four year old little girl. She was stunned and not very happy to see him at their class reunion. He asked her to check on his mother, in her capacity as a nurse and when his mom asked Brianna to help her recover she couldn't say no. So she and her daughter moved into the house with Sebastian and his mom. This gave them the opportunity to get to know each other again. Brianna could feel herself starting to fall for him again. I liked the way that she had put taking care of her father over her own interests, and how that led her to the career she loves. It's easy to see that she is the type of person who cares deeply and tries not to hold grudges or be bitter. The background of how she became Carrie's mother was a perfect demonstration of this. I loved the way that she suspected something was off about Barbara's illness but didn't want to believe it. It took her awhile, plus a talk from her father, before she found the courage to take a chance again.
Sebastian rarely came home after he left to go to college. He had wanted to get away and was going whether Brianna went with him or not, but he couldn't believe she wouldn't go with him. Now he rarely visits and when he does they are brief and he doesn't try to see Brianna. When he gets a call from his mother saying she's been ill and wants to see him, he comes right away. He's not happy that she then guilts him into his class reunion and even less happy when he runs into Brianna. But he also can't stop himself from asking her to dinner the next night. He uses that time to ask her to take care of his mother and learns about her daughter when he picks Brianna up. I loved his surprise and the way he kept jumping to conclusions. I really enjoyed seeing him get to know Brianna again and also be around Carrie. He was so good with her and she opened his eyes to what he had been missing all these years. He also began to see and admit that his attitude back then had been very selfish. He also realized his was still trying to protect his heart. I loved the ending and the surprising twist that it included.

In the other corner there's Elizabeth Stephens, a self-sufficient
violinist. She's lonely sometimes, but playing her music is more
rewarding-and safer-than playing the field.
Then a certain someone calls in the Mamas, and-"ding "-Jared and
Elizabeth are thrown together, planning a thirty-fifth wedding
anniversary party. Soon the two are enjoying themselves "way" too much.
"It won't last, " thinks Elizabeth. "It's fun, that's all, " thinks
Jared. But they're about to learn that in a real love match, "both"
players can win...
Good book. I really liked both Jared and Elizabeth. Elizabeth is a violinist who is very involved in her music. She is the oldest child of a single father who lost her mother when Elizabeth was only four. Because she saw how devastated he was at her mother's death, she has refused to allow herself to get emotionally close to anyone. Her father worries that she will be alone for the rest of her life and mentions his worry to one of his patients who just happens to be one of the Matchmaking Mamas. She steps in and engineers a meeting between Elizabeth and Jared, one of her clients for her catering business. Jared has seen how wonderful his parents' marriage is, but believes that it is a very rare occurrence so he doesn't let himself get invested in any relationship. He is bowled over by Elizabeth when he meets her. It isn't just her beauty that draws him but he enjoys her sense of humor also. As they spend time together working on his parents' anniversary party their feelings grow deeper although neither one will admit to it. I loved the way that each of them had a quiet sense of humor that allowed them to tease one another. I could see them just building on each other's quips. I also loved Jared's way of treating Elizabeth as if she were so important even from the beginning. Jared admitted his feelings to himself and was determined to Make Elizabeth see that they belonged together. She on the other hand was so afraid of being hurt by what might happen that she couldn't open herself up to the possibilities. I loved the ending and how romantic it was.
